More DCTC Students Pass Certified Professional Exam

April 6, 2008

The testing season for the Minnesota Nursery and Landscape Association Certified Professional test has concluded, and between the January and March test dates, 5 current and 3 graduated DCTC students passed the examination. They can now proudly call themselves industry Certified Professionals.

The Certified Professional exam is a rigorous and challenging two-part examination; one part covers basic knowledge and the other is specialty test selected by the participant. An applicant must pass both tests with at least 80% correct to claim Certified Professional status.

The exam, recently revised, is challenging enough that less that 50% have passed. This year, 38 people passed the test, and 8 were trained in our program. We are happy that our high participation and success rate supports our program mission statement.

Congratulation to Faith Applequist, Krista Bitter, Robin Jensen, Connie Sokolouski, Matt Wolfe, and alumni Chad Bischoff, Danielle Erickson, and Lea Marquez.
